What is happening?

05/23/2022 by admin Leave a Comment

On May 17, Binance CEO Trieu Truong Bang (also known by the nickname CZ) shared an article by Mr. Fortune on his personal Twitter page with the comment “Poor again”. The article is about Binance losing a large amount of money after the slide of UST and LUNA.

Specifically, CZ said that Binance received about 15 million LUNA as part of its $3 million investment in Terra. At its peak at an ATH of $119, this Binance LUNA was worth over $1.6 billion. However, at the present time, with a value of only 0.0001 USD, 15 million LUNA of Binance is now equivalent to… 1500 USD. In addition, Binance has about 12 million UST through staking during the past time. Currently, UST has moved away from the 1 USD mark and is only 0.06 USD at the time of writing.

On May 21, on Twitter, a user posted a picture of CZ making… pizza delivery shipper. CZ then responded: “Always be adaptable”. Plus the tweet “Poor again” just posted a few days ago, has the CEO of Binance also reached the end?

A few days after posting the tweet

… Of course not. In fact, the CEO of Binance is participating in an event called “Bitcoin Pizza Day” (Bitcoin Pizza Day), held by the world’s largest electronic exchange in Cannes, France.

The event was created to commemorate May 22, 2010, when American programmer Laszlo Hanyecz exchanged 10,000 Bitcoins for 2 large pizzas. In 2010, 1 Bitcoin was worth less than 0.005 USD and 10,000 Bitcoins was only about 41 USD. Currently, with the value of 1 Bitcoin at about $30,000 at the time of writing, the amount Laszlo spent for 2 pizzas is equivalent to $300 million.

However, the meaning of Bitcoin Pizza Day is not based on the rapid growth of millions of times the value of Bitcoin in just a decade, but because it is considered the first payment transaction where Bitcoin is used. to exchange real goods, showing the applicability of this cryptocurrency.
