More than 10 years ago, an Apple engineer “forgot” an unreleased iPhone 4 at a bar and this became one of the biggest leaks in Apple’s history. Now, the same thing is happening to Google, when someone left a prototype of the Google Pixel Watch at a restaurant and images of the unreleased watch have gone viral online.
The watch looks very similar to the previously leaked renders. According to the source, the device also comes with a box that says it’s an “in-house development and testing only” product and doesn’t represent the final product, meaning the final product could be there are some differences from this “forgotten” prototype.
The photos show that the black smartwatch appears to have at least one button next to the crown (rumored to have two). The back of the watch “looks like metal but feels like it’s coated with glass.” The person who left this prototype behind also left behind the blue watch band. Maybe the commercial version will have many colors for users to choose from.
Unfortunately, the charger is not “forgotten” with the watch, but it is likely that the Pixel Watch will charge from the bottom like many other smartwatches.
Google recently filed a trademark application for “Pixel Watch”. Another report claims that the watch could use a Samsung Exynos chipset. Google is expected to announce this watch within the framework of its annual I/O 2022 developers conference, which begins on May 11.
