Samsung recently released its financial results for the first quarter of 2022, and the company is proud to reveal record revenue for three consecutive quarters. Samsung’s Q1/2022 revenue reached 77.8 trillion KRW (about 61.19 billion USD).
The company’s operating profit hit 14.12 trillion KRW (approximately $11.10 billion), up 51 percent from a year earlier, with its Device Experience (DX) division posting its highest revenue since 2013.
The mobile phone business contributes significantly (approximately KRW 3.82 trillion) to the company’s overall profit. Samsung revealed these numbers as a result of strong sales of its flagship Galaxy S22 series, as well as a positive response to new 5G smartphone models and steady sales of products in the ecosystem. devices, including tablets, smartwatches and headsets.
The memory chip business posted record high sales amid steady demand, contributing to more than half (8.5 trillion KRW) in operating profit.
The Samsung Display division also enjoyed a similar track record thanks to strong sales from major smartphone makers, contributing 1.1 trillion KRW (approximately $881 million) to Samsung’s operating profit. Demand for Neo QLED and big-screen TVs also helped the picture business thrive.
