This week, Sony revealed a new miniature PlayStation, Nintendo launched its online service, a bundle of Apple products started shipping, and Amazon put its Kindles and other top devices on sale as it showed off a heap of new products. With the help of TechBargains, we’ve put together the best deals of the week so you can sift through the savings without hassle.

New Products We Like

  • PlayStation Classic Pre-Order Open Now ($100). Sony has its own take on the mini retro console that Nintendo made popular with the NES Classic. The PS Classic will come with two controllers, 20 games, and cost $100. It ships December 3 and some store pre-orders are still open.

  • New Nintendo Switch Online Service Pass ($8-$20). Nintendo’s new online service launched this week. It lets Switch players compete online and gives them access to a bundle of retro games like Super Mario Bros. 3 that are now playable online with friends. If you want to gift or buy a year of online service without subscribing to recurring billing from Nintendo, Amazon offers 12 months for $20 or 3 months for $8.

Apple Deals

  • 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar for $1,283 (Was $1,700). Use code SAVE5 at checkout to get the full discount. This is a 2017 MacBook Pro, which is still plenty powerful, with an Intel Core i5, Retina Display, 256GB SSD, and 8GB RAM. It also comes with $150 in PCMag Digital Shop bucks.

  • New Apple Watch Series 4 for $399 (44mm for $429). Apple’s latest watch has new heart-tracking features that set it apart from any other smart watch on the market (8/10, WIRED Recommends.

  • Apple Watch Series 3 for $279 (Was $329). The Series 3 has been dethroned, but it’s still fantastic and more than adequate for most folks, with waterproofing and optional LTE connectivity.

  • New iPhone XS and XS Max Available Now. The latest iPhones came out Sept. 21. You can now buy them from Verizon ($700 off second one), AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, or the Apple Store. The iPhone XR is also up for pre-order at a slightly more affordable price. It ships October 19.

Tech Deals

  • 55-inch Refurbished Samsung flagship QLED 4K TV for $660 (Was $1,214). This refurbished Samsung 4K TV was the company’s flagship TV last year, with its QLED screen tech. We gave it a 7/10, WIRED Review, but this model is better than the curved model we saw. For the price, this is an absolutely stunning TV.

  • BBC’s Blue Planet 2 for $30 (Was $60). If you’re going to buy a 4K Blu-ray to see exactly how beautiful your TV can look, Blue Planet 2 is simply stunning. It’s also critically acclaimed.

  • HP Envy 13t Laptop for $750 (Was $1,000). Use the code 25BMSM918 at checkout for the discount. This HP laptop is great for work or travel with an Intel Core i7 (8th Gen) CPU, 8GB RAM, a 13-inch HD touchscreen, and 256GB SSD.

  • Xbox One Controller for $40 (Was $60). Every so often, Xbox controllers go on sale. They don’t seem to get lower than this price, so buy one now if you’re in the market. Works with Xbox One or PC.

  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate + $10 Amazon credit for $56 (Was $60) . If you pre-order the next Smash Bros. game for the Nintendo Switch, Amazon will throw in a $10 credit that will be applied to your account “30-35 days after the game is shipped.” OK, sure.

  • Stanley Simple Start Car Jump Starter for $30 (Was $52). It’s not winter yet, but winter is coming, and having a lithium-ion jump starter in your car may get you out of a predicament. It attaches to your dead battery, charges for a while, and lets you get it started again.

Amazon Device Deals

Amazon revealed a bunch of new Echo and Alexa devices this week, and put a lot more of its devices on sale. Most of these deals will end between September 22 and 26. Read more about the Kindle deals here.
