UPDATE: Nintendo Switch fans will be pleased to hear the latest rumours regarding Dark Souls.
According to Kotaku, Dark Souls Remastered will be announced during today’s Nintendo Direct.
Dark Souls Remastered will also be coming to PS4 and Xbox One, where it will feature improved lighting and expanded multiplayer for up to six people.
Dark Souls 2 and 3 are also rumoured for Nintendo Switch at a later date.
ORIGINAL: Nintendo Switch fans are eagerly anticipating the first Direct conference of 2018.
The rumoured Nintendo Direct conference could go live without any prior announcement, potentially at 2pm UK time.
One long-standing rumour is that From Software’s Dark Souls trilogy will be announced for the Nintendo Switch.
After surprising fans with LA Noire at the tail-end of last year, reports also suggest that Rockstar will unveil GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption Remastered for Switch.
Konami, meanwhile, will reportedly bring the Wii Rebirth trilogy to Switch, which includes Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth, Contra ReBirth, and Gradius ReBirth.
As for Nintendo, the biggest rumour is that Super Smash Bros will be announced. This would likely be a port of the Wii U game, complete with DLC characters and stages.

And Nintendo Switch owners could be in for another big surprise, as the company files a trademark for a classic gaming series.
Nintendo has filed a new trademark for 1080° Ten Eighty, which suggests the classic snowboarding series is coming back.
“Nintendo has filed a trademark registration for 1080° Ten Eighty,” Pixelpar tweeted.
“1080° Snowboarding was first released on N64 in 1998, hitting the Wii’s Virtual Console 10 years later (in 2008). The sequel “1080° Avalanche” was released on GameCube in 2003.”
While the filing could be for a new game in the series, it could be more proof that N64 and Gamecube releases are coming to Virtual Console.
Could Super Mario Sunshine and Luigi’s Mansion and Pikmin also be coming to Virtual Console?
Then there’s EA game Fe, which is said to be re-released on the Switch.
Rumours of a Nintendo Direct conference started late last year when a report suggested that a presentation was scheduled for January 11.
More recently, industry insiders like Stealth told Twitter followers that there is a strong possibility of a surprise Nintendo Direct conference taking place later today.
“Everything I have heard would strongly suggest a Direct is tomorrow (January 11),” Stealth tweets. “Early tomorrow. They need to announce soon.”
According to another of Stealth’s sources, the Direct conference could take place at 9am EST (2pm UK time).
Elsewhere, a Nintendo of Russia social media account is reported to have told an inquisitive fan: “Good afternoon! Follow the news – soon expected!”
