Using a 2020 Ford VIN decoder, a third powertrain option was also spotted: a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. The Corsair plug-in is expected to use the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder Duratec motor currently found in the Ford Fusion Energi. In the Fusion, this engine produces 175 hp but should offer more thanks to the electric assist. Lincoln will likely make improvements to this drivetrain’s electric range, which currently sits at 25 miles in the Fusion. With Ford set to kill off the Fusion and all of its other sedans, it makes sense to use the car’s plug-in hybrid system to make a crossover more appealing to buyers.
