Effects of night mode on air conditioners
Night mode is actually a mode to save power and protect the user’s health of the air conditioner, designed specifically for the machine when operating at night.
This mode helps the air conditioner work more efficiently with a special setting mechanism to balance the ambient temperature with body temperature, bringing a sense of relaxation, protecting the health of the user while sleeping.
2. How does night mode work?
Normally, with air conditioners that do not have a night mode, you will easily experience the phenomenon of cold when it is late at night even though the temperature of the air conditioner does not change.
This cold feeling comes from the following reason: the outside temperature decreases as it gets late at night, this temperature will directly affect the environment inside the room, causing the air conditioner to remain at a certain level. The temperature is fixed but is still affected and lowered gradually, making the human body feel colder, causing restless sleep or even startling in the middle of the night.
At this point, you need to wake up, adjust the temperature, for those who easily fall back to sleep, there is nothing to say, but for those who often suffer from insomnia, this is really harmful.
For that reason, the introduction of smart night mode has helped the air conditioner operate more efficiently and also bring more comfort to you.
Specifically, the night sleep mode is set up automatically, allowing the air conditioner after a fixed period of time to automatically increase the temperature so that the room temperature matches the user’s body temperature (usually every day). after 30 minutes or 1 hour, the temperature will increase to ~1 degree, then continue to increase to 2 degrees to maintain that temperature), almost completely overcome the phenomenon of freezing at midnight, thereby helping You sleep better and deeper.
Night mode also brings efficiency to save electricity: the closer to morning, the air conditioner increases the temperature, limiting power loss.
Night mode is usually built into the evening shutdown timer – so when you choose a shutdown timer it will automatically be activated.
3. Night mode on some air conditioner brands
Comfort Sleep mode works on the principle of increasing or decreasing the temperature of the air conditioner by 1°C/2 hours (up to 2°C). When this mode is turned on, the Toshiba air conditioner will automatically adjust the temperature to meet the natural laws of human biology.
Every hour, the air conditioner will increase by 0.5°C from the set temperature within 4 hours and then decrease by 0.5°C every hour for the next 4 hours corresponding to 8 hours of sleep.
3.2. Panasonic’s Sleep Mode
Sleep mode will be integrated with a custom timer (0.5 hours, 1, 2, 3,…9 hours). However, you can still cancel by pressing the SLEEP button again when the sleep timer function is only 0.0 hours.
When Sleep mode is active, in the first 3 hours, the temperature will automatically decrease 2°C from the set temperature. During the following hours, the temperature will be increased by 1°C above the set temperature.
3.3. LG’s Sleep Timer Start mode
Sleep Timer Start mode automatically adjusts the temperature for optimal sleep by increasing or decreasing 1°C every 30 minutes until the room temperature rises or falls by up to 2°C to match the internal temperature. Each sleep stage helps you have a good night’s sleep.
This mode is suitable for families with young children and the elderly to help take better care of sleep.
Sweet Dreams mode will adjust body temperature with the principle of slowly raising the temperature when you start to sleep and keeping the temperature stable to help you have a deep sleep, until before you wake up the room temperature will automatically gradually increases to help you easily acclimate to the outside temperature.
3.5. Daikin Night Operation Mode
Night mode will increase the temperature by 1°C after 1 hour to increase your comfort according to your metabolic needs during sleep, and until 2°C rise, the room temperature will be kept. unchanged and does not increase again until the machine stops.
The night mode only works with the cooling mode (Cool), so please be careful when using it!
Beko’s Sleep mode will also automatically increase or decrease the room temperature (up to 2°C) according to the mode you choose to help you easily have a deep and good sleep.
However, sleep mode is only used in the following modes: cooling, drying and heating. For Fan and Auto mode, this function does not work.
Hopefully the above article will help you better understand the operating principle and how to use night mode on air conditioners!
