6 steps to clean hot and cold units quickly at home
Step 1: Check if the air conditioner is working properly or not?
Before cleaning, you need to check if the air conditioner is working properly by adjusting it to the lowest temperature. Then check the cooling capacity.
Then use the remote to control the fan blade to see if it works normally. If everything is fine then move on to the next step.
If the equipment is damaged or has problems with operation, you need to contact the repair and warranty center before proceeding with the air conditioner cleaning process.
To disassemble the indoor unit, you need to first remove the blower fan by removing the fan retaining pin (picture below).
Next, turn on the front cover of the air conditioner in the upward direction.
Use a 4-sided screwdriver to remove the screws fixing the case on the indoor unit.
Then remove the outer case, we will see the part that needs cleaning inside (the heat exchanger).
Use a special wrap to cover the cold block to prevent water splashing during cleaning.
Use a dry towel or plastic wrap to cover the circuit area on the cooler. This is an extremely important step to avoid situations where water splashes in and causes short-circuiting and machine damage.
Use the spray nozzle to clean the dirt, mold that accumulates on the cold block.
Note: When cleaning, do NOT spray water directly on the board area!
Spray for squirrel cage wings and squirrel cage fans. This is the internal part but still contains a lot of dirt that needs cleaning.
Spray and clean the previously removed air filter.
Cleaning the outdoor unit is somewhat simpler than the indoor unit, first you need to remove the front protective cover by prying the retainers.
Wash the fan blades, dust-filled corners inside the heater.
Next you need to spray the dirt on the back of the heater.
Note: Do not spray water directly on the area containing the circuit board, please!
Step 4: Check the air conditioner gas, refill if missing
Gas plays an important role in the operation of the air conditioner, so we need to check if there is enough gas, leak or not,… If it is lacking, it must be pumped in accordance with the recommendations from producer.
To test the gas, first you need to remove the protective cover of the circuit with a 4-prong screwdriver.
Connect the gas meter to the gas pipe on the heater to conduct a gas measurement.
Use an ammeter to measure the current on the machine.
Compare the gas pressure on the gas meter and the current on the Ammeter with the parameters from the manufacturer. From there, calculate whether your air conditioner is short of gas or not? If there is a shortage, it must be refilled (1-1.5 HP air conditioner pump costs 130,000 VND, 2-3 HP costs 250,000 VND, and 3 HP ceiling air conditioners costs 450,000 VND)
General cleaning of all hot and cold units (wipe clean with a clean cloth). If you use the air conditioning cleaning service of Dien May XANH, the technicians will clean the entire cleaning area for customers.
Use the remote to start the air conditioner, then lower the temperature to the lowest level to check if the air conditioner is working properly or not?
Notes on cleaning the air conditioner:
Turn off all electricity when cleaning the air conditioner.
To ensure the longevity of the machine, you need to maintain the indoor and outdoor units at least once every 3 months. Besides, you should also clean the internal parts of the machine as well as the outside of the machine at least once a fortnight with a soft bristle brush.
