Pence thanks Apple for donating 9 million N95 face masks to health-care workers – MarketWatch

Vice President Mike Pence said Tuesday that Apple Inc.

has donated 9 million N95 face masks to health-care workers amid the coronavirus crisis. Apple CEO Tim Cook had tweeted Saturday that the company would donate “millions of masks for health professionals in the US and Europe.” Pence made his comments during a White House press briefing late Tuesday, thanking Apple and other companies, such as Ford Motor Co.

CEO Elon Musk acquired 1,200 ventilators from China and is sending them to U.S. hospitals. Apple and Facebook apparently had the face-mask stockpile for employees following years of serious wildfires in California.
