Lesson 2: What is the meaning and basic content of the Law on Environmental Protection?
Meaning: The Law on Environmental Protection aims to prevent and remedy the bad consequences caused by human and natural activities to the natural environment. At the same time, it also regulates the exploitation and use of environmental components in a reasonable way for sustainable development.
Basic contents of the Law on Environmental Protection:
Prevention of environmental degradation, pollution and incidents (Chapter II) related to the exploitation and use of components of the environment such as soil, water, air, organisms… and ban the import of waste into Vietnam.
Overcoming environmental degradation, pollution and incidents (Chapter III) related to the responsibilities of organizations and individuals in handling industrial and daily-life wastes, and dealing with environmental incidents.
