Cubic centimeter gasoline. Cubic decimeter

### 1.1. Knowledge to remember

To measure volume one can use the following units: cubic centimeters, cubic centimeters.

a) Cubic centimeter is the volume of a cube with sides 1 cm long. Centimeters abbreviated as cm^{3}

b) Cubic decimeter is the volume of a cube with sides 1dm long. Cubic decimeter is abbreviated as dm^{3}

c) A cube with side 1dm includes: 10 x 10 x 10 = 1000 cubes with side 1cm. We have:

1dm^{3} = 1000cm^{3}

### 1.2. Solve textbook exercises on pages 116, 117

**Lesson 1 Textbook page 116**

Write in the box according to the pattern

Write numbers | Read number |

76cm3 | seventy-six cubic centimeters |

519dm3 | |

85.08dm3 | |

\(\frac{4}{5}c{m^3}\)

one hundred and ninety cubic centimeters

two thousand zero hundred and one cubic decimeter

three-eighth of a cubic centimeter |

*Solution guide:*

Write numbers | Read number |

76cm3 | seventy-six cubic centimeters |

519dm3 | five hundred and nineteen cubic decimeters |

85.08dm3 | eighty-five point zero eight cubic decimeters |

\(\frac{4}{5}c{m^3}\) | four-fifths of a cubic centimeter |

192cm3 | one hundred and ninety cubic centimeters |

2001dm3 | two thousand zero hundred and one cubic decimeter |

\(\frac{3}{8}d{m^3}\) | three-eighth of a cubic centimeter |

Lesson 2 Textbook page 117

Write the correct number in the blank:

a) 1dm^{3} = ….cm^{3} 375dm^{3} =….cm^{3}

5.8dm^{3} = ….cm^{3} \(\frac{4}{5}\) dm^{3}= …cm^{3}

b) 2000cm^{3} = …..dm^{3} 154 000cm^{3} = …..dm^{3}

490 000dm^{3} = ……cm^{3} 5100cm^{3} = …..dm^{3}

*Solution guide:*

a) 1dm3 = 1000cm3 375dm3 = 375 000cm3

5.8dm3 = 5800cm3 \(\frac{4}{5}\) dm3=800cm3

b) 2000cm3 = 2dm3 154 000cm3 = 154dm3

490 000dm3 = 490cm3 5100cm3 = 5.1dm3
