Problem: Line segment AB is 2cm long, line segment CD is 3 times longer than line segment AB. How many centimeters long is the line segment CD?
The length of line segment CD is:
2 x 3 = 6 (cm)
To multiply a number by many times, we multiply that number by the number of times.

Lesson 1: I am 6 years old this year, my sister’s age is twice my age. How old are you this year?
Sister’s age = Sister’s age multiplied by times
Her age this year is:
6 x 2 = 12 (age)
Answer: 12 years old
