**Lesson 2:** Rectangle ABCD has a width of 3cm and a length twice its width. Calculate the perimeter and area of that rectangle.

- The area of a rectangle is equal to the length times the width (same unit of measure).

The length of rectangle ABCD is:

3 x 2 = 6 (cm)

The perimeter of rectangle ABCD is:

(6 + 3 ) x 2 = 18 (cm)

The area of rectangle ABCD is:

6 x 3 = 18 (cm^{2})

Answer: 18cm^{2}

Mother’s weight in kilograms is:

17 x 3 = 51(kg)

Both mother and child weigh in kilograms:

51 + 17 = 68 (kg)

Answer: 68 kg.
