### 1.2. Math forms

**Form 1: Determine the value of factors and products in multiplication.**

In multiplication, the components are called the factors and the result is called the product.

**Form 2: Calculate the value of the product.**

From the given multiplication, I convert to the sum of many terms to mentally calculate and find the value of the product.

**Form 3: Math quizzes.**

– Read and analyze the problem: The problem often gives the same number of values, requires finding the value of some groups.

– Find the solution of the problem: To find the value of a number of groups, we usually multiply the value of a group by the number of groups.

**Lesson 1**

Write the following sums as products (in the form):

**Sample : 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 3 x 5**

a) 9 + 9 + 9 =

b) 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 =

c) 10 + 10 + 10 =

__Solution method__

– Count the same terms in the given sum.

– Write addition to multiplication of the form: (Term) x (Number of the same terms).

a) 9 + 9 + 9 = 9 x 3

b) 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 2 x 4

c) 10 + 10 + 10 = 10 x 3

**Lesson 2**

Write the products as the sum of equal terms and calculate (in the form):

**Sample: 6 x 2 = 6 + 6 = 12, so 6 x 2 = 12**

4 x 3

__Solution method__

From the given multiplication, determine the value of the term and the number of equal numbers in that sum and calculate the value.

a) 5 x 2 = 5 + 5 = 10, so 5 x 2 = 10.

2 x 5 = 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 10, so 2 x 5 = 10

b) 3 x 4 = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 12, so 3 x 4 = 12

4 x 3 = 4 + 4 + 4 = 12, so 4 x 3 = 12.

Write multiplication (according to the pattern), knowing:

a) The factors are 8 and 2, the product is 16 **Sample: 8 x 2 = 16**

b) The factors are 4 and 3, the product is 12

c) The factors are 10 and 2, the product is 20

d) The factors are 5 and 4, the product is 20

Remember the position with the corresponding name of the numbers in any multiplication:
