**Form 1: Calculate**

– Set alignment.

– Perform subtraction in turn from right to left, when the unit row of the number being subtracted is not enough to subtract, you need to perform the subtraction with memory.

– Write calculations according to the data of the given problem.

– Perform calculations to find the value of the result.

– Find the solution of the problem: Pay attention to the problem with the keyword “reduce”; “give”; “remaining”… then I usually use subtraction to find the solution.

Calculate:

Perform subtraction of numbers and then fill in the blank with the result.

Set the calculation and then calculate the difference, knowing the subtracted and subtracted numbers are:

a) 72 and 7; b) 42 and 6; c) 62 and 8.

– Set calculation: Write the calculation so that the digits are in the same row and column together.

– Calculation: Subtract numbers from right to left in turn.

Hoa has 22 labels, Hoa gives you 9 labels How many notebooks does Hoa have left?

__Solution method__

To find the number of remaining labels, we subtract the number of labels from Hoa’s original notebooks.

The remaining number of labels in the draw is:

22 – 9 = 13 (notebook)

Answer: 13 labels.

Find x:

a) x + 7 = 42

b) 5 + x = 62

To find a term we subtract the other term from the sum.

a) x + 7 = 42

x = 42 − 7

x = 35

b) 5 + x = 62

x = 62 − 5

x = 57
