ROCKPORT — Five Town CSD Adult and Community Education is offering several new classes this year.
Nature Writing Through Personal Essay is a new class being taught by Laurie Murray, a former university creative writing lecturer and writing center director. This 6-week class begins April 6, from 6 -8 p.m.
Native Russian speaker Tatiana Lopyreva is offering classes in both beginner German starting March 26 (5 – 6:30 p.m.) and beginner Russian starting March 23 (5 – 6:30 p.m.), both for 8 weeks each. She previously taught in public and private schools in Canada.
Polymer Clay Boxes is a 3-week class beginning April 1, from 6 -8 p.m., being offered by the long-time art teacher duo of Linda Leach and Sandy Clement, who sell their polymer creations at local craft fairs and through mainelightscollection.com.
Some new one-night classes being offered are:
Intro to Stress Management and Resilience by Certified HeartMath Trainer Gilda Joffee on April 14, from 6 – 7:30 p.m.;
Make a Baby or Pet Blanket in One Evening with quilter Beverly Shejen on April 7, from 6 -8 p.m.;
A Brief History of Astronomy Plus Stars, the Speed of Light and More, with long-time amateur astronomer Jim DellaPenna on April 29, from 7 – 8 p.m.
These classes are held at Camden Hills Regional High School off Rt. 90 in Rockport.
